We spent our first two days in India with frenzied shopping for Indian clothing. The girls needed several work and church Punjabis and the boys needed a couple more button-up shirts.
Indian culture made an immediate impact on our team. Rickshaw rides through busy, constantly honking traffic, and haggling over the price of everything were definitely not experiences we’d had back home.
But we also noticed so much to love about India – the children and their hugs and kisses, the sun (it’s freezing back home), the breeze, the vegetation, Indian music, the brilliant colors, the beautiful Punjabis and the warmth and kindness of the people.
We couldn’t wait to start our work with the Children’s Home.
