It was only five hours into our 30 hour journey to SE Asia, and I was the only one on my outreach team still awake. I flipped through the in-flight entertainment, trying to keep boredom at bay. I clicked on a movie, read a caption, and boom, the thought “I’m going to Asia!” popped into my head.
I grinned and looked down the row at my friends and fellow missionaries. I thought of how God had chosen each of us to be on the team. Each person brings different talents, gifts, and passion to the team. What more could I ask for?
I’m overjoyed, looking forward to the big, radical experiences and the blessings from the little things — conversations, hugs, prayer, and looking for God’s hand in our day-to-day experiences.
We don’t know what awaits us in our new “home” for the next two months. But I do know this — we are here for a reason. I am ready and saying “YES, Let’s do this!” to whatever God asks of me!
