After completing my Discipleship Training School in 2013 in Montego Bay, Jamaica, I felt God first stir my heart for missions. Later that year, I moved to Madison to attend a YWAM Bible school. I have been serving in full time missions ever since. A couple of my passions are encouraging and strengthening young believers in their walk with Christ and leading people closer to our amazing God during musical worship. God has given me a desire to train musicians to be skillful and whole-hearted worshippers.
I have a heart to see the Kingdom of God advanced both internationally AND locally. I have served in missions in the Gambia, Japan, Mexico, and here in the U.S.
I did my Discipleship Training School (DTS) at YWAM Madison in the summer of 2010. One of the draws that YWAM Madison had for me was its local university ministry. While in college, I had been a Resident Assistant for some of the campus apartments. I loved getting to know the students personally and working together with them to build a community of depth, joy, and encouragement. During DTS, God put it on my heart to join YWAM Madison staff full time in 2011 to work with the college ministry house, Phos. All my passions have come together at the Phos House: ministry, college (minus the classes), community (relationships), hospitality, worship, and a chance to champion young people as they seek to understand who God is, who they are and how they make a difference in this world.
Now there is us!
We first met and started dating in 2013 while both attending the Bible School for the Nations here at YWAM Madison. We both have individually felt a call to missions over the years and amidst our dating God continued to confirm that call. We got married in September of 2015 and felt that God was asking us to remain in Madison, WI and to continue serving with YWAM Madison. We have been involved in staffing DTS, leading outreaches, staffing our campus ministry house, and various other support roles.
Now we are the leaders of our campus ministry community house called the Phos House. The Phos House is an international live-learn Christian community for university students located on fraternity row on the University of Wisconsin- Madison campus. The vision of the ministry is to help American and international students serve the Lord with all of their hearts in the area of study into which God is calling them. While the Phos house is explicitly Jesus focused, it is open to believers and non-believers alike to experience God-centered community. Several of the ways we build community at Phos include: Bible studies/small groups, one-to-one mentorship, worship nights, recreation together, house meals and chores.
How can we do what we do?
