by Nicole M., Japan outreach participant
On our journey to Japan (which included three flights of about 16 hours total!), we spent a four-hour layover in Detroit. We camped out in a quiet corner near one of the gates to discuss the outreach and pray.
“This morning, my aunt sent me a verse in Psalm 121,” Dinorah said.
Rose, the team leader, looked it up in her Bible so we could read it together.
“Look!” she gasped. “I already have ‘Japan’ written beside this Psalm in my Bible!” Rose explained that while she had prayed for Japan last year, Psalm 121 was a scripture her prayer team had heard from God for the nation.
We called Dinorah’s aunt to tell her the significance of the verses she sent us. She explained that those verses had come to her her mind early in the morning and that she had felt that she should give them to us.
It was so cool to see how God worked to reveal to us the same verses for Japan that He had given to Rose a year earlier!
It was a wonderful confirmation of what God wants to do, both for us and for Japan: “I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1-2).
