DTS Outreach team has a busy first weekend in Uganda

Since they landed in Uganda, the YWAM Madison DTS outreach team has been busy running kids camps (Friday to Saturday), and did the Sunday Service (or at least parts of the 6 hour service), and ran a teen girls ministry after the kids camp on Friday. Whew!

Great job, girls!

Here are some photos from the team’s first weekend in Uganda.

First Impressions by Chelsea: I LOVE the way these people worship! Each session of anything starts with prayer and songs of praise to our God, many times led by the children. It really amazes me. God did such an amazing job at picking this outreach for me. He knows me best and loves me too much to have let me pick my own outreach location. It has only been 5 days but I know that He has greater things planned for us than we could ever imagine!

First impressions by Christina: Uganda is so different than every place I have been to before. But this country and its people are starting to amaze me and make me excited for the next six weeks of outreach.

The first week we ran two Kids-camps. What a privilege that we could do that! Ugandan children are wonderful! The way they worship God, pray, listen to the stories and even give testimonies is amazing. They love to learn new games, songs and dances (although they usually could dance better than I could). But they sometimes also just are Kids: messing around and not listening to the advice we give.

They love to teach us words from their own language. As they started teaching me Luganda I felt like the Kid being taught by some teachers. They didn’t stop until I really said it right, and every time I said it wrong they started laughing and saying it again. Those Kids can speak English very well which makes it easy for us to communicate. We are so excited to meet more of those Kids next week!
