I recently joined YWAM Madison with plans to staff the upcoming Discipleship Training School (DTS) this fall. The DTS helps students to cultivate an understanding of who God is, how He longs for intimate relationship with each of us, and seeks to create an environment that fosters a personal relationship with the Lord that will develop in them a deep love for God igniting a passion for the things that are on His heart. It seeks to equip young adults to impact their generation in the area that they believe the Lord is calling them.
My role in this will be to mentor and come alongside these students as they seek the Lord, providing guidance and encouragement, and then helping to further lead them as they take what they’ve learned in the classroom and apply it on an outreach abroad.
I want to partner with the Lord in impacting this generation for Christ.
Something that impacted me during my own DTS was the amazing way God invites us to partner with Him in bringing about his kingdom here on earth, through worship and prayer. We move the heart of the one who created the world, and prayer is our most powerful tool in advancing the kingdom. Jesus has not simply asked me to stay within my comfort zone, but rather to share the Good News, to love the hurting, and to intercede in prayer for what God would like to do in our midst and around the world.
Micah 6:8 says, “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” There is a hurting world that needs to encounter His love through a life-changing relationship with Him.
I invite you into this journey of partnering with me in this!
